OBSESSED

Let that fever burn
Burn until you boil
Twist your ribbons tight
Twist until you turn
Starve yourself out hollow
Waste away until bones stick to skin
Beat your heart up broken
Squeeze until it's nice and bloody

JAYNE GOURGIOTIS: my name is Jayne, I'm 22, and have been writing for about ten years. I'm a Bartender/Actor/Collagist/Writer/Real Estate Agent who doesn't know what she wants to be when she grows up. I live in what I call "Dirty Jersey". I've moved a lot, 18 times so far and counting. All between New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania.

I call my style, for the most part, miserable. Most of the time I'm more interested in keeping my words simple, especially in trying to convey a moment to a reader. I think it's important to be honest and write about what you know. Although sometimes elaborate trimmings are fun in my more "abstract" writing. When I use symbolism in a poem I consider it to be abstract.

ADAM BRODSKY: I teach English in Cleveland, Ohio, and run a small literary press named "Ptrint" that produces literary magazines and poetry chapbooks. I write poetry and create cartoons when I am not grading papers.
