IN THE YEAR 2525
Found:
the platform of the American Anti-Imperialist League,
written in the above year
"We hold that the policy known as imperialism
is hostile to liberty and tends toward militarism"
"We deplore the sacrifice of our soldiers and sailors,"
as well as our astronauts and assorted support,
"whose bravery deserves admiration
even in an unjust war"
But
we see with great clarity that
"The real firing line is not in the suburbs of"
Baghdad or Kabul or any foreign country,
or the moons of Jupiter,
or the satellites of Saturn,
or any particular spot in space
"The foe is of our own household"
"The attempt of 1861 was to divide the country
That of the twenty-first century was to destroy
its fundamental principles and noble ideals
Those of the twenty-second and twenty-third
and twenty-fourth and twenty-fifth
and up to now have been to spread hegemony
over the whole of space
"We propose to contribute
to the defeat of any person or party
that stands for the forcible subjugation of any people" ,
"a truth-suppressing censorship"
or
"the delirium of conquest"
"We cordially invite the cooperation
of all men and women who remain loyal to
the Declaration of Independence and
the Constitution of the United States" ,
as well as to the U.N. Declaration of Human Rights
and the principles of planetary treaties
that now lay long disregarded
on the Interplanetary Trail of Broken Treaties
Our first principle is that
"A self-governing state cannot accept sovereignty
over an unwilling people" or planet
Proceed from there

I'VE CHANGED MY PLANS
I had plans for presentation, and I was really going to go all out, but something has changed, and I was wondering if we could just meet and hang out. Maybe we can kill some time at that place you like to go to. I lost the first draft and I can't find the notes. So I guess that's just the way things are. I am doing a little photography though, and I'm learning a lot, the way that I always wanted to, about the real. Everyone knew about the real except me. I know you did. So it is a simple thing. I feel like I'm changing a little bit from the way I used to be. I had a dream that I walked into a workshop. The workers said "we are old craftspeople, and others don't think there is a need for what we sell, but they're wrong." This is when I reconsidered my plans. I can't afford not to take the time I need. I'm not sure what is going on with you but maybe we can catch up soon.
