Welcome to The City
A physical contemplated love
riddles my annoyance.
For there are far more depths to the face
than just the eyes;
Far more depths to the eyes
than just the view.

Sunglasses

His eyes were hidden beneath darkness.
Forbidden, I was to see them.
The beautiful ocean-like blueness,
the crisp movement of each ending blink.

I was deprived of meeting him again
for the first time in many months, because
he didn't enter me as bad as before.
He didn't have the ability this time
to slice through my mind, reminding me
of who he used to be, what he meant to me.

His eyes were hidden beneath darkness,
and I was free.

You turned me off
like a light switch
and now the room feels cold.
I keep trying to find my way out, but
It's dark and I keep bumping into things.

I'd beg you to stop
moving the furniture around
if I could see you.
If I could still see you, but

It's dark. It's cold
you're too cold, and
I can hardly feel you.
