What Earth Says of Love

From one spring to another,
we must follow the sacred path
the world has shared with us,
for it’s important to understand
why the summer starts and stops.

We know that if we listen to soft song
whispering through bare trees
the warm wind will take
our winter away for a time,
and green is soon to come.

And when the temperature
turns around, and fall begins its
ancient show, cool and colorful,
the withering of eden is never far off.

So man and woman together
must love, and coax all the hot magic
out of this sweet short life.
