When You’re a Decimal Among Zeros by Agram Bigsby

A few flakes of snow
settle in the bare woods
beyond the creek.

The old farm road
is frozen still.

But the birds are up.

Beyond the ruined horse sheds
in the brushy meadow
in the weeds by the frozen pond

one calls to another:

Chirrup! chirrup!
Winter’s gone! winter’s gone!

–For Dawn Harrison-Drasner
